Exciting News from Fairview Primary School!
In May 2024, Fairview Primary School welcomed many guests to the launch of the Ballyclare Heritage Trail. This outdoor trail is dedicated to the history of Ballyclare. Also, it weaves its way through the outdoor learning space within the school grounds.
The School was overjoyed to present the trail, a collaborative effort between Fairview Primary School and the Brilliant Trails team. This trail is a celebration of Ballyclare’s vibrant history. Likewise, the Brilliant Trails team were honoured to be part of this journey alongside the School’s dedicated pupils and teachers.
“This project has been a fantastic journey for our students! They have immersed themselves in the town’s past, uncovering fascinating insights and contributing some wonderful key pieces of information”.
The Fairview Ambassador team have been working on this project since September, meeting with members of the Ballyclare Historical Society to gather valuable information.
Overall, it was a historic day to have all three former Principals of Fairview join in the celebrations. Additionally, two ambassadors, spoke about their contribution to the trail before Fairview’s first Principal, Mr McKinney, officially cut the ribbon.
On launch day, family, friends, and members of the local organisations featured on the panels joined the School for a tour of the Heritage Trail.
